Thoughts:
Another post on Weight Watchers. As you may or may not know I plan my meals ahead (just the dinners) I’ve been doing this ever since R. and I started living together 16 years ago. Main reason I do this is because I don’t like grocery shopping and once a week is enough for me. Every weekend I sit down and start planning and make a shopping list.
Being back on WW probably means adjusting my eating habits. This week I have planned already till Friday. What I’m going to do is stick to the planning and see how many Points I’m eating. Yesterday I sat down and planned for the week after Friday and also planned my breakfast, lunches and snacks. I use a Dutch WW book for that which has meal plans for 365 days. I do make adjustments however because I don’t like everything they suggest.
By doing this I can compare the two weeks after that and see if it makes a difference.
By using this small changes I will see if this helps me lose weight. If not I have to make more changes in my eating habits. But taking one step at a time to see what works for me.
We decided not to put up the Christmas tree this year. First of all I didn’t feel like it, it’s a lot of work to put it up and decorate it. Second we don’t trust Bella with it, she loves to play with her ball and I’m afraid she will see to many shiny balls in the tree which she wants to play with. Here’s what we’ve done this year.

No workout yesterday, it was my official rest day and no workout today. My calf is hurting again. I’ve ordered a foam roller this weekend and it will be delivered this week. I hope this will help me with my calf issues.

Meatball, potatoes and mixed vegetables.

Your decorations are beautiful! I especially love the greenery swag above your fireplace.
I work hard not to go to grocery more than one time per week and sometimes not for two weeks if I can. It takes planning though, that’s for sure!
Love your decorations! And that stew looks delicious.
I hate grocery shopping too Fran, especially if it involves the kids coming with me
. but it cannot be helped, we go through so many fruits in this house that I normally have to stock up a couple times a week, guess that’s not such a bad problem
.
Your christmas decorations are absolutely beautiful! I need you to come to my house and whip it into the christmas spirit! I have not put up one single decoration.
Yours are great!! And I am just like you, I only like to grocery shop once per week if that. So I try to plan the big meals ahead of time. It’s hard, but frees up so much time.
We haven’t put up a tree….well, ever. The last time I had a tree was 13 or 14 years ago. My nephew and sister were living with me, and I wanted him to have a tree. Every year I think “you know, I think I’ll decorate next year”…but when next year rolls around, it never gets done.
Nice decorations! I didn’t put up a tree either, since we won’t be here anyway. This sure saves a lot of work – especially afterwards to take it down.
Where did you order your foam roaller from?
I am a meal planner too, which I do think helps with eating better. Also–my husband and I were married for several years before having kids and we often skipped the Christmas tree then–people thought it was so strange, but I never missed it!
You are so organized! I too usually only shop once a week, but I fly by the seat of my pants when it comes to making meals. I try to plan ahead, but things change very quickly at my house and I often don’t have time to make what I’d planned, or everyone else has eaten already or goes out.
Hope your calf feels better soon. Thanks for the birthday wishes!
No matter how you choose to decorate, it always comes out beautiful – you have a really nice touch with your house (and garden!). I love how you are not even giving Bella the opportunity to be tempted by the ornaments – it’s really easier that way, especially since she’s still a puppy. Will she get a Christmas gift? (Paco wants to know this)
I don’t like grocery shopping either.
We haven’t put up our tree and I’m kind of debating it. With our little peanut running around, I’m a little nervous but it might not seem like Christmas here without it. I do love your candles!
Oh Fran, I love your holiday decorations! They are so beautiful and festive. I didn’t really feel like putting up my tree either…but I have to for the kids:) You are right, it is so much work. I am not looking forward to taking everything down and putting it away. Ick!
Good luck with the foam roller! It will do wonders….I promis:)
Take care Fran! Hugs!
Well, we have one difference: I actually like grocery shopping. But I hate spending lots of money at once so if I it doesn’t fit in a grocery basket ( I never use a cart ) it doesn’t come home with me. But your planning idea is a good one. I’ve tried that but it never really gelled.Usually I can plan for the day, it I’m really focussed!
Thanks for your comment yesterday. I do struggle with positive thinking and I like your suggestion. After all, maybe I should focus on making this the LAST time. Just like I said it would be the LAST last time. I am happy just to be trying again.
Now I just need to strap my shoes on and hit the road! I’ve got some serious catching Fran to do!
I love having a tree- this year I have one but it makes me nervous because my roomates dog loves it. I keep waiting to come home to it on the floor!
You will love a foam roller!!!
Those are lovely decorations! We are doing okay with Pixie. She now doesn’t seem to care about the ornaments at all, but then she is 3 years old. My folks are putting up a gate around their tree as they have a 1 year old dog.
Thank you for the card! It arrived during our trip.
I am a dork because I really like to grocery shop. Not sure why, but I love looking at all the fresh produce and finding new specialty items. That can drive John nuts because we shop together
