A day in my life: Saturday October 17th 2009

Health:
The last few days were good days, I ate normally without any snacking in between. Exercised as planned.

Exercise:
Wednesday my injury was a whole lot better, enough healed to try to do the Matt Roberts plan training 2 and it went very well! This one took me about 70 minutes. I started half an hour early at work so I could leave at 4 pm and went straight to the gym. I’ve never done that before but I liked it very much so I will try to do that every time I have plans to go to the gym.

Thursday = grocery shopping day so a day of rest.

Friday I had a nice lunchwalk with my best friend for about 35 minutes. I went to the gym immediately after work for MR training 3 of this week which was all cardiotraining which took me 55 minutes including warming up and cooling down.

Today I did clean my house downstairs so that’s my working out for today.

What’s for dinner:
Wednesday a Chinese orientated meal with rice.

Thursday typical Dutch meal: kale and saucage

Friday I wanted to eat something that was ready fast since I went to the gym first and I’ve had a simple pasta with ham, vegetables and pasta sauce.

Thoughts:
I love spending time with my friends.

I love writing on a Dutch forum where I’ve made new friends whom I talk to daily through the forum and also see from time to time.

I love blogging and reading blogs for inspiration, motivation and sometimes I’m laughing out loud because of the humor some of you have.

I love to read and the unread books that lye there waiting for me is 20 and there’s the list with books I still want to read.

I love to cook and love my cook books but I still haven’t finished organizing them in my Excel sheet with everything I would love to make so that looking up a recipe is easier.

I love making Japanese puzzles.

I love cross-stitching, I got 11 different pieces because I like to the variety in working on different pieces.

I love watching my favourite tv shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Private Practice, Ugly Betty, Samantha Who?, Being Erica, The Mentalist, Castle, 90210, Gossip Girl and I’m sure I’ve forgotten 1 or 2.

I love shoes, at least I’ve got time to wear those every day.

But I HATE it that there’s only 24 hours in a day and when I’m done working, running/exercising, housekeeping and sleeping there’s just too little time left to do the things I love.

How about you? Do you have enough time to do the things you love? And if not, how do you make time?

Tomorrow morning I’ll go for my morning run and after that I’ll go to a outlet shopping centre. There’s an Asics, Nike, Puma, Adidas en Reebok store and I need running clothes for the winter. I can buy there last seasons clothes with big discounts.

Positive today:
Blessed that I have so many things I like doing.

A day in my life: Tuesday August 18th 2009

Health:
I’m feeling good. I love my holiday. I wasn’t very stressed the weeks before my holiday started so I’m relaxed now.

Exercise:
Yesterday morning I did an interval training. It was a bit heavy but I’ve made it through the whole training.

Today I didn’t go to the gym or went running. Instead I’ve worked in our garden for about 3 hours. To me that’s exercise too!

What’s for dinner:
Yesterday a simple dinner: meat, potatoes and green beans.

Today we had chicken breasts in a sauce of mushrooms, light cooking cream and pesto with backed potatoes and a salad.

Thoughts:

I did watch Shawshank Redemption Sunday and while watching the film I took some pictures of Roussy. Roussy has been with us for 11 years now, we’ve got her when she was 5. She’s now 16 years old what is very old for this kind of dogs. She’s deaf, almost blind and extremely slow but her heart is very strong so she’s still going strong our little white dog.

Yesterday after I went running I washed all the windows of our house which took the whole morning to do that. In the afternoon I reorganized my recipe database. You’re going to hear me say that more in the future. I have about 80 cook books which I’m all thumbing through and write all recipes which I like in a Word file. It’s a quirk of me

Today as said I worked in the garden all morning and this afternoon I did some cross stitching. Today I worked on this one:

Positive today was:
Garden is all fresh and cleaned and pleasant to sit in again.

A day in my life: Monday August 10th 2009

Health:
I’m still fighting to lose the weight I’ve gained Thursday night at the tapas night. Every time I have a dinner or something else where I eat more than I usually do, I’m gaining weight. I only have to look at food and I’ve gained it seems.

Exercise:
Yesterday morning I did another 50 minute run and a bit faster than last week.

4 more weeks and my 10K training is finished, in 6 weeks I have my first 10K run so I’m ready in time. Every training I feel more confident about myself and I know I’m going to finish the 10K in September.

To keep running after this run I planned four more races, one on November 1st, this is a 6K run which is in the woods with lots of hills. I’m not used to that so it’s a challenge. The second one is a 10K run in my hometown, start is 5 minutes from my house. The third is a 10K run in the woods nearby the village I grew up and the area there is beautiful. And the last one is the Nike Ladies City Run in April.

I want to do two more races between January and April. In May there’s another run in my village which I want to do also.

Today I had a lunchwalk with my colleague and girlfriend K. for 30 minutes.

I did my intervaltraining immediate after work, before dinner and it went terrible. I didn’t finish the training completely: it was too hot, my legs weren’t cooperating and I couldn’t get my breathing under control. So I did only 2.7 km/1.7 miles in 21 minutes.

What’s for dinner:
Sunday smoothie: I forgot to make a picture but it was a smoothie of strawberries, nectarines and orange juice and it was delicious.

Yesterday I made chicken soup which we ate with bread. For dessert a bit of ice cream.

Today I filled a bread with minced meat, bacon, onions, salad and tomatoes. It tasted very well.

Thoughts:
Yesterday was a relaxing day. After my morning run I made a meal plan what I always do on Sunday. And I’ve been working on one of my cross stitching works. Cross stitching is one of my hobbies. I don’t like to work at the same work the whole time so I have 11 works on which I’m working right now. It’s a lot I know and I probably will be working on it for years and years but that doesn’t matter: I’ve got the time. Yesterday I worked on this one:

Today was a working day, I had a lot to talk about with K. whom I didn’t see for 3 weeks. She returned to work today after a vacation in Washington and New York. And I’ve been running as said before. Tonight I’m going to watch Private Practice. They’re airing two episodes. We are somewhere halfway season 2, we’re always behind compared to the US.

Positive today was:
Talking to K. again, I missed her!
