A day in my life: Thursday September 10th 2009
Health:
Yesterday a male colleague of mine asked me if I had lost weight. I was wearing a “new” suit. New in the meaning that I haven’t worn it before, old because it was in my closet for 2 years. I’ve bought it too small. He said I looked really good. So you understand: he made my day.
Today I decided to participate in “The Biggest Loser – OFB style”. I accepted 3 challenges: Weight loss 30 lbs or less, Most miles run and Most cardio hours completed. Operation Fat Blaster is a community which is set up by Michelle (Secrets of a former fat girl http://www.secretsofaformerfatgirl.com ).
If you want to join us in the challenge, sign up at http://operationfatblaster.ning.com

Exercise:
Yesterday I did a 5K run before dinner and it went great! The weather conditions were perfect and running went easy.
Today I had planned to go to my first Zumba class but by the end of the afternoon I was kind of tired so instead I did Sports Active on the Wii. I don’t do the challenge in 30 days but decided to do the challenge when it suits me so every time I do SA I take the next day of the challenge.
What’s for dinner:
Yesterday I’ve made risotto with vegetables and chicken.

Today I had fajitas with chicken and red peppers. The chicken, onion and red peppers marinating:

After grilling:

The salsa to go with it:

The final plate with a bit of guacamole:

Thoughts:
Today I finally made a decision about my study English. I’ve looked through my books and if I want to finish this study I’ll have to study about 8 to 10 hours a week and at this moment I don’t have so much free time left. My priority is losing weight and exercise. In the end I have more benefits from a healthy body than from a finished study. When I started the study last year I didn’t exercise as much as I do now and even then I hardly ever studied. It was a bit impulsive to start this study (it’s a at home study). But it gives me peace that I finally made this decision, now I can focus even more on working out and healthy living.
Today was my day off, this morning I cleaned upstairs. In the afternoon did my weekly grocery shopping and had to go to another town to replace the battery of my Polar heart rate monitor. When I got home I did Sports Active as mentioned, made dinner, took a shower. This evening I’ll read some blogs and watch an episode of Desperate Housewives which still is on my recorder.
R. has left at 4 am this morning. He is in Italy (Imola) right now for the next days. He’s visiting a fair for motorcycle parts with his brother and a friend. He goes there every year in September. He will be back on Monday so this basically means that I can eat whatever I like and watch girls movies
Positive today:
Lost weight this week, house is clean, worked out and nice weather.

A day in my life: Wednesday September 2th 2009
Health:
Three days working means three days of eating healthy and no snacking in between. That’s all there’s to say about my health
By the way: I’ve read a great post of one of my favourite bloggers: Amanda.
She linked to an article which basically says that we shouldn’t diet but start eating as if we have already reached our goal weight. Here’s the link, maybe you’d like to read it too.

Exercise:
I took a day of rest yesterday instead of working out.
But today I went running before dinner: 5K (3.1 miles) in 37.16.
After dinner I decided to try out my new Sports Active for the Wii and did an easy workout but that was heavier than expected because there were a lot of exercises for the legs.
But 2 workouts in a day, this way I catched up on my missed workout yesterday.
August miles:
My goal in km’s/miles in August was to run 50 km/31 miles.
I did 76 km/47 miles so more than my goal. I’m happy with that!
What’s for dinner:
Yesterday a piece of pork meat, baked potatoes and steamed green vegetables.

Today I’ve made pasta with vegetables, basil pasta sauce and cooked ham.

Thoughts:
Work is busy and I’m a bit tired at night, trying to find my working rhythm but I suppose that I found it at the end of the week. There’s not much more to say: after work I’m just reading some blogs on the internet, watch some tv and read a bit and then go to bed.
Positive today:
2 workouts today: Running and Wii Sports Active
Daily Tip/Quote:
You have to wonder at times what you’re doing out there. Over the years, I’ve given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement.

A day in my life: Monday August 31th 2009
Health:
Today was a good day: ate my fruits and veggies, drank enough water.
Saturday I ate a bit too much at the bbq and yesterday we had an unhealthy buffet but I didn’t eat too much of it.
Exercise:
Yesterday my running training was: 1 hour and 5 minutes. Before I started I said to myself: you can run 45 minutes at least. When your tired after those 45 minutes you can walk for a few minutes. But it wasn’t necessary. I ran the whole 65 minutes!
Today is probably the last hot day of this summer. So I’m planning to do my interval run of this week in about half an hour or so and hopefully it’s not too hot anymore than. Can’t go much later because it’s getting dark earlier nowadays.
What’s for dinner:
Sunday smoothie: raspberries, bananas and cranberry juice.

Today we had a piece of meat, potatoes and a salad of green beans, cherry tomatoes and a red onion.

Thoughts:
The weekend was fun. BBQ at my mother’s house was pleasant. So was the birthday party yesterday with the inlaws. We got to bed early because today was our first workday after two weeks vacation.
Even though I didn’t feel much like working again, it was nice to see my colleagues again. Had about 235 emails which I had to read but I finished them today. The rest of this year is going to be busy but I don’t mind that, rather busy than waiting till it’s time to go home because you have nothing to do.
Positive today:
My EA Sports Active arrived today.
