A day in my life: Friday March 26th 2010

Weight Challenge week 12-2010

Starting weight: 89.2 kg (196.6 lbs).
Target weight: 70 kg (154 lbs).
Current weight: 79.8 kg (175.9 lbs).

This weeks result: +0.5 (+1.1 lbs)
Total loss: – 9.4 kg (20.7 lbs)

Fat percentage: 41.3 (last week 41.4)
Muscles percentage: 30.4 (last week 30.1)
BMI: 26.7 (last week 26.4)

I’ve gained this week but that’s not a surprise. I haven’t watched what I ate much although I haven’t been overeating either which I normally do in stressful situations. So overall I’m not unhappy with this result and try to get back to healthy eating all day as soon as I’m up to it.

Thoughts:
Thank you again for all your encouragement on my latest post. I did run again today, see exercise, I didn’t want to disappoint you and myself so I tried again.

I had a meeting outside the office yesterday and had to drive 2 hours to get there, then take notes at a meeting for 6 hours and drive back home for 2 hours. I was tired yesterday evening and was in bed by 10 pm which is early for me.

As I knew Thursday was going to be a long day I took today off and cleaned my house, did grocery shopping, went running, read blogs, watched tv: a relaxing day.

Tomorrow we’re having a party from R.’s work. R. thinks I wear to many black clothes and not enough casual outfits (which is difficult with the job I have) and he asked me to wear something casual tomorrow. After inspection of my closet I realized I needed something new in a smaller size. So here’s what I bought (I couldn’t resist the other blouse so bought that too). I will wear the jeans and pink blouse tomorrow.

And … I always wanted to have designer shoes and after searching Ebay for a long time I finally were able to buy Calvin Klein pumps for a reasonable price. I’m very happy with them.

I will be back on Sunday with my race report. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Exercise:
After my disaster run Wednesday I decided to try again today. I had to run 5K without walking in between. It was a struggle, it didn’t go easily but I did it. Imagine my surprise when I got home and uploaded my stats from my Garmin to my computer and found out I had beaten my 5K time (it was only 15 seconds but who’s counting) and ran my fastest run ever outside.

Although the run itself was difficult, the results gave me back my confidence in running and I will participate in the run on Sunday. I had planned a cardio session at the gym tomorrow but decided to give myself a day off so I’m fresh on Sunday.

Stats:
Weather: 12 ˚C/53 degrees, cloudy, dry, not much wind.
Distance: 5K / 3.1 miles
Time: 0:33:40
Average time: 6:44 /km
Average speed: 8.9 km/hour

I also decided to stop with the Matt Roberts bikini program and instead use two of his other programs and mix them up: upper body and perfect legs. The perfect legs workouts will be combined with interval training on the treadmill. The upper body has 6 different workouts and the perfect legs also. I will switch between the two programs and workouts.

  1. love the outfit, you’re gonna look great.

My husband and I always had a constant battle about “black”. He always wanted me out of black and I hid behind it. Now that I have lost weight I think I own 1 black shirt – I no longer hide and I don’t think you should either my friend.

I hear “pink” is a cool color 🙂

  2. Like the outfits you bought. It’s always nice to get new clothes and in a smaller size! My eating was off this week and so I am going to try and journal and see if that helps. Good luck on Sunday.

  3. Yay! So glad to hear the run went better than Wednesday! It is a struggle to get back in the saddle again after a setback, but you did it – that’s great. Especially when you actually did better than you thought you did! Good idea to take it easy tomorrow so you will feel really good on Sunday. It will also be fun to run a race with other people – I always find that to be such a nice distraction to listen to the other people around me. Last week at the 10K we had these two ladies from West-Vlaanderen behind us for a while and it was cracking me up to listen to their conversation – everything was “leutig” (fun)! have a good Saturday and I’ll be looking forward to seeing how Sunday goes 🙂

  4. Love the new color and layout of your blog…saw it earlier but forgot to mention it to you.

Like the hipster jeans and shirt…its the sort of clothing I wear…You have to take a pic of yourself in this outfit and share…

Will be sending you good vibes on Sunday…I will do a outdoor run if it is not raining here with you in mind as Heinz will be leaving for France and that leaves me to do my own thing….but if it rains…I will skip and cycle indoors.

    Good vibes my friend.

  5. Very nice clothes and shoes! I am sure you will look great for the party. Have fun!

    Good luck on Sunday!!!

  6. Cool beans on your super fast 5K – funny how you can surprise yourself! Good luck on Sunday – I’ll be thinking about your running that fun track!

Love all of your new clothes – I wear a ton of black, too, so appreciate the color. You will look HOT in those jeans – be sure to post a picture so we all can ooh and aah!

  7. I love the dress. I hope you have a lovely time.

  8. I also love the outfit – you are going to look so amazing 🙂

And, congrats on the run. 15 seconds is alot – I’m counting 🙂

  9. Good luck on Sunday. The dress is really cute!! I tried on some summer clothes from last year today and the pants came right off. Guess I won’t be pulling that off like I did with the winter clothes..lol

  10. Cute clothes! Congrats on snagging the shoes and getting your 5K PR. 🙂

  11. I love the clothes! would love to see a pic of you wearing them too 🙂

Congrats on a great run and good job getting back out there under difficult times. Best wishes for this weekend. I hope the weather is lovely and that you feel light and swift as you run.

OMG I love that shirt! So cute and hip 🙂

I am not a big fan of shopping and usually I am either in dressy work clothes or gym clothes so I don’t have much casual stuff either. Over Easter break I am planning to do some shopping for new stuff.

  13. Cute clothes, I always like seeing what people are wearing these days! Fun post. I hope your running goes well, great job sticking with it. Have a fun time at the party, can’t wait to hear about it!

  14. Hi Fran,
