My first working days are done. It was a bit difficult starting yesterday morning but I’m already used to working again. The best thing is that I’m back at my daily routine which makes eating healthy and regular exercise so much easier.
I’m not going to talk about the World Cup final we’ve lost and Spain deserved to win. I’m proud of our team that they made it to the final. All the critics from other countries can say what they want but their country wasn’t in the final, our’s did. The Dutch are proud that they have come so far and this is what you get in Holland from the fans when you return home:
Let’s talk a bit about running shall we?
I received a package in the mail yesterday from Shelley from a forty-something’s weight loss journey. I’ve read about Bondi bands all over blogland but after checking out the website it was a bit difficult to get them delivered in Holland. I’ve mentioned that once in a comment on Shelley’s blog and she sent me an email that she would give me a bondi band and I could just pick one. So I’ve picked a few in case my favourite would be sold out and to my big surprise the package didn’t have 1 but 2 bondi bands in it. Both pink as requested, one says “live, laugh, run” and the other “run, walk, crawl, finish!”
Shelley got the last one too in a different colour and we made a deal we will both wear it in the same weekend when she run’s her first half marathon on November 20th and I run a 15K on November 21th.
Shelley I can’t thank you enough, I’m so happy with the bands and you’re so sweet that you give me this present. I’d wish we’d live closer together because I would give you a big hug, for now you’ll have to do with a virtual.
I’ve been busy this weekend. I’m starting with week 4 of my half marathon training this week. The program is 28 weeks in total. What I’ve done is make an Excel sheet and plan all my runs, races and gym workouts in it. I’ve coded the different trainings with colours, the purple ones you see on the right are runs I’m going to participate in. The program will be finished in week 5 – 2011 which gives me about two more months to finetune before my first half in April or June (haven’t decided which one I’m going to do). I’ve put the schedule on the wall next to my goals (looking at it right now) and each run/workout I’ve finished will be crossed off and of course I would like to use my pen a lot! I like it (and not just for the colours), it gives me something to hold on to. I’m a person who works with to do lists a lot at work and at home so this is perfect for me.
This morning I got up at 5.15 am and was outside at 5.30 am for my first run of week 4 of my half marathon plan. It was great, the heat wave is over here and it was nice and cool. This has been the best run since the last 3 weeks, everything was right. I wore my new shoes and they are great. I’ve had trouble with my right leg lately that got tired every run but on my new shoes I had no trouble at all with this.

Fran’s daily outfit:
Back to work means different outfits. I’m a management assistant and my job requires that I look representative. I hardly wear jeans to work, sometimes on a Friday when my manager is not in the office and we don’t get visitors. So you’re going to see different outfits than in my vacation.
The Monday dress is new, I’ve bought it last week on sale and I love it, it’s very comfortable. I wore it with the shoes I bought last week. Tuesday’s outfit you’ve seen before, the difference is I wear jewellery and make-up.
What’s for dinner:
Yesterday a burger, potatoes and mixed vegetables.
Today chicken with tomatoes and onions in a sweet-sour sauce with rice.
