Monday May 21, 2012: The Mishmash Edition

Daily stuff:

Our weekend started on Thursday because Ascension day is a public holiday in Holland. Most companies are closed the following Friday and so was R.’s and mine. I started Thursday morning with a gorgeous run: sunshine, little bit of wind, nice temperature. Perfect running weather.

Friday I did some household chores that I postponed a view times, like window washing. Of course it rained at night. Story of my life: I clean the windows and it rains.

We had 4 days with beautiful weather, except Sunday morning that started clouded and with rain but later in the afternoon it got warm and sunny again. We had to wait a long time for Spring but it seems it’s finally arrived.

Today it was even warmer: 29C (84 degrees). At lunchtime some guys I work with came to ask me if I wanted to join them on a lunchwalk which I didn’t refuse. It was gorgeous outside, even a bit too warm.

Tomorrow it’s my birthday and it looks as if we can sit outside. Most of the times the weather is bad on my birthday. I’m not having a big birthday party this year. Tomorrow night my Mom, MIL and my friend T. are coming over for coffee and birthday cake.

It’s a tradition R. and I go out for a birthday dinner which I wanted to do next Friday. I want to go to a specific restaurant but they were booked for a private party on Friday and I made reservations for the Friday after that. We’ll have to wait a bit longer for my birthday dinner.

TV shows I watched last week
The Big Bang Theory, Touch, Grey’s Anatomy, King, The Good Wife, The Mentalist, Once upon a time, Revenge, Mad Men.

Cross Stitching

This is what I worked on this weekend. The package is called African Wildlife and I finished about a quarter of this piece.

Knitting update

The back of my sweater is finished! The size looks good and I’ll start on the front this week.

  2. Your sweater looks so pretty – and your stitching is really nice! Quite even; really looks well done!

Glad you had a good run and I love that you went for a walk at lunch – you are getting some nice warm temperatures! I’d say 84 is too warm for me to walk in, so kudos for getting out in it! 🙂

And now, I want to wish you an early HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Your extended celebration will be fun, for sure!

Weather was about 26 degrees here so not as hot as your side.

  5. Postponing your birthday dinner just means you get to stretch out the celebrating! We haven’t gotten quite that warm here yet and today it’s gone back to rain, but at least it was a beautiful weekend!

  6. I saw some sweet baby geese today too! Love it.

Fran, have a very Happy Birthday! I hope you have a perfect day! Can’t wait for the dinner and to see what you choose for your meal.

  7. I like that cross stitching. And happy birthday! By having your dinner later you extend the celebrations!
Do you have something you always order? I tend to do that at favorite restaurants.
